I had long been a fan of Nell Hills and in complete admiration of Mary Carol Garrity and her team of talent that flittered about her stores effortlessly making everything they touched look perfectly placed. My girlfriends and I made special trips to Atchison telling all we were 'Nelling' and couldn't be bothered to plan another thing that day. Upon arrival I would stand in the front entrance of Nell Hills for at least 10 minutes just to wrap my mind around the scenery and take it all in...much like waking up and taking the inventory of the day before able to set a foot on the floor. I dreamed of the day when I would be able to possibly make an arrangement for Mary Carol...as I had always said, "I would rather design for someone like MC than any star on TV." I thought it really not possible as there are so many super talented individuals already surrounding her...how could she possibly take notice in my passion for floral and space design. But it happened! Dare to Dream...
And now after being lucky enough to be included and featured in several of her latest home decor books ~ Feather Your Nest, Stylish Weddings (of which I have my own chapter!!), and O' Christmas Tree ~ I now receive the pleasure of attending to a few of her friends and clients special events utilizing Nell Hill merchandise of course!
Following are some of the Virtual Design Ideas I have created for friends and clients all using Nell Hills goodies ~ Enjoy!!
We have these super fun lanterns in two sizes to use for an event in October. The bride is very rustic with a theme of Birds and Nests ~ think they came to the right place!? I LOVE IT! As she does not want a lot of fresh florals...instead I suggest moss and twigs everywhere with potted plants and succulents ~ only adding in a few pops of garden rose and ranunculus where needed.
Here are a few Virtual samples I created to help with final decisions...but it's so hard to choose...we may just end up mixing and matching all of them throughout the venue!
And I couldn't resist doing a few other bird themed items possibly to be tucked into the bathroom and adorning the smaller bistro tables...
I love items like these for event centerpiece decor as they have many other uses for home decor ~ even make great take home gifts!...it's money very well spent.
On a different home decor subject ~ one of my best girlfriend's is redesigning her bedroom and master bath ~ we always look first to Nell for an 'inspiration' something. This time is was the wall color of Amelia Blue ~ ooooh how soothing! And once new carpet was in and furniture rearranged ~ it's on to wall decor! YAY! Here were a few of my suggestions...
I love these candle wall sconces ~ but you don't always have to use them for a candle...really!
I also thought a few collections of either plates or prints would be nice...
Do you think this is a few too many plates?...hmmnn...I bet Mary Carol wouldn't think so!!
